Take Off

Take off is just passed where the railings end at the top or just down the front of the dune. It is also possible to pull your wing up on the rough grass on the other side of the road but this means walking your wing to where you can launch.

Landing

bottom landing: it there is always some sandy beach below the launch area but as you go further north the beach narrows and becomes non existent at high tide Top landing: it is possible to land at take-off or across the road on the rough grassy area but take care for lampposts and traffic

Flying

Sandy grass dune for launching give acces north onto verticle cliffs with steep earth slopes above them, it is possible to fly north as far as Seaham however there are some tricky gaps and headland to negotiate

Hazards

1. there is a footpath and road just behind take off take extra care in case you get dragged here. 2. watch out for disappearing bottom landing options with rising tide. 3. If flying north past Blackhall rocks (the fingers)make sure you have enough height as there is never any bottom landing here

Site Records

The furthest flown from here is north to Sunderland however for this you would have to cross Seaham harbor this has only been done once by Brian Rowe who now holds the site record SAFETY NOTE crossing Seaham harbor is very difficult with no landing options not to be` attempted unless your sure you know what your doing (this is why its only ever been done once)
